My male breeding cats
are CFA show cats with friendly, easy-going personalities that love
people and love to show. They have obtained one or more of the
following CFA titles; Champion, Grand Champion, Regional Winners
and/or National Winner. Adult breeding cats are echoed for
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) by color-doppler ultrasound, DNA
tested for HCM and health checked yearly by our veterinarian.

| The
Beginning: My daughter wanted a cat. My husband and I had pets
all of our lives and a cat would fit nicely with our pug, Koko. My
cousin, Susan, showed Maine Coons and in 2004 we started our
search. We went to several shows and helped Susan with her cats.
After searching months for the right cat, we decided to adopt a
rescue cat named Angel. |

I missed the shows. I
missed watching all of the beautiful cats and listening to the
judges tell about the breeds. I wanted to learn more. I continued
to help Susan and spend time with her Maine Coons. I fell
hopelessly in love with her cats and bought the first silver kitten
that Susan deemed to be of show quality. I chose Maine Coons
because of their majestic look, playfulness and wonderful
personality. Maine Coons are also known as ‘the gentle giant’. Maine
Coons are very social and long to be near their owner/s and other
pets. A perfect fit for our family. |

Maine Coons are heavy
boned and most become large cats. A male Maine Coon can weighs
between 12–22 lbs; the average is 14-18 lbs (they look much
larger). Female Maine Coons weigh between 8–12 lbs. Maine Coons
do not reach full maturity until 4-5 years of age.
Maine Coons are not
vocal cats and when they do ‘speak’ it is with a chirp type of
sound. I have seen my cats pace, chatter softly and shiver with
excitement at the sight of birds at the feeders. It is comical to
hear such a large cat with such a soft voice. Maine Coons have
beautiful shaggy coats with nice full bushy tails. Maine Coons shed
in wisps that are much easier to clean and pick up, instead of
dropping single hairs.

About our Kittens |

|
|
 |
Aslanspaw kittens are
raised in our master bedroom underfoot until they are old enough to
have the run of the house. Aslanspaw‘s kittens are raised with our
wonderful pug, Tater Tot. Tater is great with kittens and the
transition is so much easier if the potential owner has other pets.
Kittens are ready for their new homes between 12-16 weeks of age.
Kittens are socialized, use corrugated boards for scratching and
have been trained to use the litter box. A written health check by
our veterinarian will be included. Kitten
immunizations
are administered, kittens are free of parasites, bacterial diseases
and guaranteed FeLV/FIV negative. Our Health Guarantee will be
voided if the Feline Leukemia or the FIP vaccine if is given.
|
|
 |
Aslanspaw provides a written guaranteed that each kitten is FeLV/FIV
negative, free of bacterial diseases, fleas, parasites, worms, hip
dysplasia and FIP. Aslanspaw provides a written health certificate
from our veterinarian.
|
|
 |
We screen all potential kitten owners. Each owner must sign a
contract to neuter/spay his or her kitten between 6–9 months of age
with no breeding rights. Kittens must be kept indoors unless safely
secured within an enclosure or in a traveling crate. The kitten/cat
cannot be declawed and must never be placed in a shelter or pet
rescue. |
